A basic, but fundamental part of our lives, an important descriptive adjective. Almost nothing goes by without having a colour. It is an integral part of our lives even though we pay no notice to them. They are all around us. We see it once we turn around, from the pigment of our skins to the colours of plants or the sky. They are everywhere, maybe that’s why we no longer notice them. We might have gotten so used to seeing them that we forget how valuable they actually are. I added a few of my colorful photos to this post so I hope you’ll love them.
Colours have been there from the very beginning of the existence of man. Remember the story of the rainbow after the flood or the coat of many colours in the Bible. How did these colours come about? It’s something that wouldn’t often cross our minds. Over the years, meanings have been accorded to these colours, from emotions and feelings to abstract things.
What will our world be without these colours? Take a minute to imagine that. For some reasons, it came to my mind one morning and that’s why I decided to write this post. They cut across every section of life, from basic necessities like foods to other things like games, politics etc. Even in hospitals, they have a lot of meaning e.g. ‘the code: blue’ used in the A&E.
It’s not something we’d consciously think about or notice because I mean, they are just too common. If we can imagine what our lives will be without these beautiful colours, we can start to appreciate them more. So today is me taking out time to appreciate all the beautiful colours that surrounds us. Take out time to notice them too, they’re one of the little things that make life even more beautiful.
Until next time..
